Barbara Jean Sintes, 66, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of April 10, 2018 after suffering a stroke four days prior. She was surrounded by family in her final days. Barbara is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rene Sintes; sons Tony (Amy) and Patrick (Elise); grandchildren Connor, Zoe, Riley, and Ryan; mother, Mary Bullock; sister, Genevieve Ristin (Randy); brother-in-law, Carlos (Nancy) Sintes; sister-in-law, Lourdes (Gerald) Swanson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Hubert Bullock; her sister Mary Ann Ward; her sons Jeffrey and Jeremy, both who died in infancy; and her nephew Harry Glinos. Barbara was born on July 1, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from University of Illinois with a Bachelors degree in general studies with honors. Barbara was a kind, compassionate woman who was devoted to her family. She was a voracious reader from a young age, and enjoyed learning new things. Her family and friends will always remember her as a sweet, loving, kind and gentle person.A celebration of Barbara's life is scheduled for Monday, April 16, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10:00 am at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 301 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Glenwood, IL. Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will be private at a later date. All are welcome to attend a luncheon following the Mass at Little Italy, 1155 Joliet St, Dyer, IN 46311. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who provided excellent, compassionate care for Barbara for so many years. Please omit flowers.
