Carmella Smith, 87, of St. John, IN passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Catherine Ann (Michael) Cassidy; loving grandchildren, Emma, Allison and Kate; caring sister, Josephine Bracco; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Irving Smith; brothers, Anthony and Leo Oppolo; sister, Ann Sobkowicz. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions for Masses or to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory would be appreciated. Carmella was devoted to her family and friends. She was an active member of the Italian American Women’s Club.
