Joseph G. Biegel

Joseph Biegel, 97, of Munster passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014. He is survived by his children: Kathryn (Robert) Berkowicz, Paul (Linda) Biegel, Mary Jo (Robert) Biscan, Mark (Connie) Biegel, John (Kristina) Biegel; four grandchildren: Jeanine (Jeffrey) Samels, Matthew (Liz) Biscan, Katherine (Marc) Ennis, Jacob Biscan; great grandchildren: Maggie, Elly, John Samels, Danny, Mikey, Molly, Maggie Biscan. Preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM from St. Thomas More Church with Fr. Michael Yadron officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Prayer service will be at 4:30 PM. Friends and family may also visit with the family on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the church. Joseph was a man of great kindness and integrity. He had many talents and interests. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. He was a member of St. Thomas More Church and served at Port Ministries in Chicago for many years. He also was a Secular Franciscan and served with the U.S. Army 1st Division Tank Destroyer Group as a radio operator. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Port Ministries or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
