Margot Ann Blocher, 76, of Munster, IN. passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015. Margot Ann Blocher, 76, of Munster, IN. passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allen Blocher; sons, David (Carolyn) Blocher and Gregg (Anne) Blocher; grandchildren, Matthew, Mary Beth, Robert and Lauren Blocher; brother-in-law, Del (Jane) Blocher, sister-in-law, Arlo (Robert) Maloney; nieces, Cindy Blocher and Diane (Paul) Bischel; nephews, Del (Colleen) Blocher Jr, Chris Blocher and Mike (Robin) Blocher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melville and Irene Miles; brother, Mel A. Miles. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00-7:00 pm with a prayer service at 5:30 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Fr. Michael Yadron and Msgr. Joseph Semancik co-officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph-St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Margot retired from the Hammond School system after 40 years of teaching, 38 of those years at Jefferson Elementary. She was very active in the Hammond Teachers Federation. She was a long time member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and since retiring a member of the Lake County Retired Teachers Association and the Retirees Chapter of the Hammond Teacher Federation. She was an active member of St. Thomas More Church in Munster. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Catholic Charities or a charity of your choice in her memory would be appreciated.

She helped me cope with my social and emotional recovery after my mothers aneurysm and that's something I'll never forget.
