After a long valiant struggle, Nancy Jean (nee Machnikowski) Cortopassi, succumbed to cancer on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Nancy enjoyed carnivals, bowling, miniature golf, ice skating and fishing. She loved life and she loved people. Nancy passed as she lived, with a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Cortopassi, inseparable since 1966; daughter, Natalie Ann Erick; grandson, Austin, mother; Irene Machnikowski; brother, Leonard (Janice) Machnikowski; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, from her employment and retirement at Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Machnikowski.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Friday, at the funeral home, from 3:00 p.m. until the 8:00 p.m.
Come not to mourn Nancy but to celebrate her life, as she touched the heart of many. In lieu of flowers, a modest contribution to the family toward final expenses would be appreciated.
