Stella D. Sowinski, 53 of Schererville, IN passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James; daughter, Sarah Sowinski; sons, Bradley and Steven Sowinski; mother, Ann Schuch; siblings, Stephen Charlson, Ken (Jan) Schuch, Cindy (Michael) Schuch-Lynch, Scott (Kim) Schuch and Mary (Kevin) O’Connell; mother and father-in-law, Ellen and Paul Sowinski; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Jason) Van Camp several nieces and nephews; faithful companion, Hemi. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Schuch. Funeral service will held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 9:45 am at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1 Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Stella was employed as a CT Technician with a B.A. in nursing at the LaGrange Hospital for over 25 years. She was a graduate of Marian Catholic High School Class of 1982. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation, www.lynnsage.org in her memory would be appreciated.
