Dorothy M. Larson, age 91, of Munster passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 13, 1922 to the late Al and Nell Duggan. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, Gus Larson and infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth. Survived by sisters Lois Borgardt, Huntington Beach, CA and Joyce Bahnsen, Placerville, CA. Proud mom of six surviving children: Karen (John) Larson of Dyer, IN, Susan (Randy) Smith of Munster, IN, Ron (Barb) Larson of Crown Point, IN, Bill (Debbie) Larson of Crown Point, IN, Sandi (Chuck) Schmied of Cedar Lake, IN and Mary Beth (Bill) Stockdale of Schererville, IN. Her greatest joy was her family and she was blessed to see generations of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren in her life. Dorothy was a life-long member of the Catholic Church, and retired from Sherwin-Williams, Chicago in 1987 after 43 years of service. She was a wonderful example of faith, grace and strength. She loved to travel, try new things, and was an excellent seamstress, baker and had a flair for fashion. Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 3:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Saturday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Entombment will be at Queen of Heavens Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
