JIm will be greatly missed. Having the opportunity to work for him and his late wife for 19 years, they had become a great part of my family. We were blessed to have such a wonderful person to step in as a father-figure when my parents lived many miles away as well as a grandparent to my children. I am going to miss our lengthy talks and the laughter we shared over many silly things (mostly about our mutual love for flowers). He was such a great testimony to our family and all who met him. Our hearts are heavy in the sadness of his passing and we will miss him very much! Julie and family

Jim Dixon will be remembered by his WPC family as a loving mentor to both youth and parents. I am truly grateful for the gift of friendship and faith that he gave to our family. I will miss your fishing adventures you took our son on. He has endless memories of great times and is a true fisherman because of your guidance.

Jim Dixon was a good man, a great man, he will be sorely missed by my family and our church family. Westminster ( WPC) Munster, Indiana. He was loved by everyone who met him. He loved and had a special gift of instilling faith to children. He was our lay youth pastor for many, many years. The lives and generations he has instilled to faith to is beyond anything we can count all while doing it in a fun, fun, fun, loving way. He is Legend. God broke the mold when He made him. We love you! Karen, Nicholas and Buddy too.

Jim Dixon married a single mother of 3 children in 1973. They divorced in 1985. However, Jim stayed extremely active in all of our lives for 47 years! He was the only dad we ever knew. He stepped into the role of father and remained our father for the rest of his life. He never referred to us as "step children". I was always introduced as his daughter. My brother Van was his son. Our sister Sherri Roberts who preceded him in death was his daughter. All three of us had children. Grandpa was at every event. He remained active in all of our lives. He may not have been our paternal father, however it didn't make a difference to him. We loved Jim with all of our hearts. He was the dad he didn't have to be. I am absolutely heartbroken of his passing. I have to many memories to list. He had patience like nobody I have ever met. He taught us how to fish. We went camping everywhere as a young family. He took us to Disney world every year. Exactly how everyone experienced him on a daily basis, we were fortunate enough to have him as the best dad any child could ever wish for. He taught me personally about God. We prayed together many times. We talked constantly and I will miss hearing his voice terribly. He taught me to let go of grudges. He always told me that holding on to anger only hurts me. I live by that now. He also taught me that money and material things mean nothing. Love, happiness, forgiveness, family, and faith in God are important! I will miss you dad. It's unfortunate that certain people never learned how to live like you! Rest peacefully dad! I love you, your daughter, Marcia
