Cathy Becker, 65, of Homewood, IL passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, George; sons, Brian (Cindy) Becker and Brad Becker; daughter, Katie Becker (Randall Wiancek); grandchildren, Luke Becker, Maxwell Wiancek and Beau Wiancek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Kathryn Mech; brother, Harry Jr. ‚ÄúButch.‚Äù Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Glewood, IL. Cathy retired with over 35 years of service with District 205, Thornton Township High Schools. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer, www.komenchicago.org

Cathy inspired all of us to be better teachers and to truly care about every student as she did.

I will always remember her smile as she walked the halls of TTHS. She also told some of the best stories!

Kathy was the best. Always willing to help and one of Thornton's biggest fans. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Cathy never failed to give 100% to the teachers, staff, and students of Thornton Twp. High School. Her kindness, faith, unfailing courage, and love for those she served were inspirational. She will be remembered as the epitome of Wildcat Pride, Loyalty, and Commitment. RIH, Cathy.

So talented. Kathy will be missed.

Having very fond memories of Cathy, I am heartbroken at hearing this sad news. I wish I had kept in touch after my retirement, we always had a great time laughing and talking together. She was a wonderful lady and will be held in my thoughts forever.

Kathy and I worked for 20 years at Thornton. She was delightful - just a bundle of happy energy. Please remember the wonderful times you shared with her.

Kathy was always happy to assist. She was honest, loving and a spiritual light for the people that she touched. We are celebrating an angel.

My hurt aches for the loss of Cathy who was always a true friend, an outstanding mother, and a fantastic grandmother. We lost touch over the years, but whenever we would reconnect, it was as if we had spoken only yesterday. May her husband and children and grandchildren find comfort in all the wonderful memories they shared.
