LAURA ANN (VELCHEK) HEINICKE 7/2/55 – 5/27/15 Laura, \”Sis\”, Heinicke of Elk Grove Village, beloved wife and cherished mom, passed away May 27, 2015 at the age of 59. Growing up on the southeast side of Chicago, she attended St. Francis de Sales High School and furthered her education at Millikin University, St. Mary of the Woods College, and North Park College. After completing her B.S in sociology she attended and received her certificate of nursing at South Chicago Hospital School of Nursing. Laura later received her master's degree from National Louis University. Laura excelled in an extensive career in nursing. She worked at the former South Chicago Community Hospital for 13 years in the emergency and quality review departments, followed by 11 years at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts., and ended with a 10 test stint as an independent nurse legal consultant. Among numerous family and friends she leaves her husband (Jim); daughter (Julie); and precious pup (Frankie); brother, Attorney Laurence A. (Beth) Velchek; niece, Ashley Velchek; and nephew, Jonathan Velchek. Although she will be forever missed, Laura is now able to spread her kindness, love, and humor in a better place alongside her parents, Late Laurence J. and Late Phyllis Velchek.
